Our area has been inhabited for thousands of years, evidence of this is all around, for example the Neolithic burial mound on top of Whiteleaf hill. A recent dig at Monks Risborough parish church has shown continual occupation by successive cultures since Neolithic times. A number of reports have been published which although in the public domain are sometimes hard to find. Included here is a report by English Heritage on Princes Risborough which gives a wonderful overview of the history
The following document covers in detail the excavation of the barrow on Whiteleaf Hill
The next document is the details of the 2004 excavations at St Dunstans, Monks Risborough by Oxford Archeology
Details of the 2013 dig at St Dunstans by Chiiltern Archeology and the Risborough Countryside Group will be made available when released.
